Newquay StreetDraw24: Join Us for a Unique Community Drawing Event!

What is StreetDraw24?

StreetDraw24 is a free, inclusive community drawing event and exhibition designed to help us see where we live through fresh eyes while raising awareness and funds for local organizations supporting those facing housing insecurity or homelessness. Created by Cornwall-based illustrator and writer Helen Trevaskis in 2018, StreetDraw24 became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2022. This initiative runs various projects and events, all aimed at leveraging the arts to address social inequalities.

What Happens During a StreetDraw24?

• 24-Hour Outdoor Drawing Event: Draw any time between 5pm Friday 27th September and 5pm Saturday 28th September
• Go-Where-You-Like: Participants are free to draw anywhere in Newquay they like. Be Careful if your on the coast!
• Community Gatherings: Informal gatherings such as the group draw on the Killacourt at 5pm on the Friday! Come Draw with us!
• Artwork Donations: Participants can choose to donate their original artworks to be included in the exhibition. Donated pieces become the property of StreetDraw24.
• Exhibition: 26th and 27th October, an exhibition showcases the original artworks. All images are priced the same, and every donating artist has at least one piece displayed. Additional artworks are presented in books or stands if wall space is limited.
• Fundraising: All images are sold at a uniform price to raise funds for a St Petrocs. A lucky dip option ensures all artworks are sold.
• Prizes: Awards are given at the Exhibtion, such as Most Newquay Image, The Saltwall Landscape award and The Len Sheppard Heritage Award.
• Charity Awareness: The event highlights the work of chosen charities and reminds participants and visitors of the beauty and uniqueness of their local area. In Cornwall, this has supported St Petrocs, and in Devon, Amber.
