We ran our very first session on the 24th April 2021 at the Therapy Studios on Berry Road Newquay.
We ran two sessions due to the demand, 13-17’s but broadened to ages to 21.
We planned to have each session with 10 young people and 3 practitioners who all hold current up to date DBS checks and have experience and a passion for art. But we soon realised that we had a greater demand, so we increased the volunteer numbers to 6.
We managed to raise close to £1000 for materials for the event and it sparked a LOT of local interest.
Over 20 young people came along on the day to hang out and try a bunch of different art mediums for free. It was a super relaxed environment with no expectations. All levels of art experience were welcomed and some amazing art work was produced on that very first session.
It was an amazing day, full of fun and laughter and inspiration. We quickly learned that we were doing something incredible and the spark in our hearts was ignited!
