Youth Art Connect is held in C-Space, Newquay. We do sometimes host pop up events in other venues and on beaches/public spaces so please always check the event information or facebook before setting off. One day we hope to have our very own space, but for now we are happy to share.
-
Our Newquay sessions tend to be the last Saturday of every month and our St Merryn session is the first Thursday of every month but the best place to check is either on our Upcoming Events page or our Facebook page.
-
We always have at least 3 or 4 volunteers per session. Our Volunteers are all DBS checked and safeguard trained. Siobhan and Marie are also first aiders and mental health first aid trained.
-
No, unless you want to. We have enough Volunteers to watch over all 20 young people in a session. There is also an on site cafe if you want to stay close but give your child some space.
-
Each group costs us £350 to run. That’s a lot of money.
If we charged each person attending to cover all those costs, that would be around £8.75 per person. In today’s terms that itself isn’t much but we know that sum would not be affordable for many families; which is why we ask for a minimum of £1.50.
-
No, unless you want to. We provide all art materials you could possibly need and drinks and snacks.
We advise not wearing your coolest, whitest outfit and things can get messy sometimes.

We are regularly asked if we can help with school pupils who are struggling with school refusal, may be neurodivergent or are not able to engage with school. We have recieved excellent feedback from targeted groups regarding students who are unable to access school for various reasons.
We have also worked with Young People at risk of antisocial behaviour and students with physical and neurodevelopmental disabilities with fabulous outcomes.
We have been very successful in engaging the incredibly shy and withdrawn young people to build their self esteem, confidence and to be able to express themselves.
We have previously worked with Action 4 Children, Cornwall Accessible Activity Program, Cornwall Pride and Blystra Arts.
