Sweet Spring events
By Siobhan on 24th July 2023
Step into the vibrant world of Youth Art Connect as we take you on a journey through some of the exciting events and collaborations we’ve recently hosted and attended. From glass-making workshops to community gatherings, we’ve been busy spreading creativity, connection, and joy!
First up, get ready to unleash your inner artist as we partnered with the amazing Niko Brown for a therapeutic glass-making workshop. This exclusive event was specially crafted for parents and carers who could use a little extra support during these challenging times. They joined us at Niko’s studio in Portreath for a day of fun and rejuvenation – a chance to unwind, connect, and create something beautiful together.
Next, we couldn’t contain our excitement for Connecting on the Court 2023! Building on the tremendous success of last year’s event, this year promised to be even bigger and better. Bringing together forty partner organizations and hundreds of residents, Connecting on the Court was a free gathering that celebrates community spirit in Newquay. With live performances, workshops, arts, crafts, and games, it’s a friendly festival with something for everyone.
But that’s not all – we recently had an incredible workshop with the talented Clementine Neild. On July 2nd, participants got the chance to explore drypoint printing using ink and Japanese paper. This super fun process allowed everyone to unleash their creativity and craft unique prints to take home.
At Youth Art Connect, we’re all about inspiring creativity and fostering connections through art. Our recent events and collaborations reflect our commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for people of all ages to express themselves and find a sense of belonging.
We can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to spread the magic of art and connection throughout Cornwall. Stay tuned for more exciting workshops, gatherings, and collaborations – because at Youth Art Connect, the adventure never end
